Crossover Method of Genetic Algorithm: Postgraduate Study Opportunity

I'm currently doing a research on crossover method of genetic algorithm. It is to be applied in system identification. I invite anyone who satisfies the requirements of the university (Admission Requirements (utem.edu.my)) to apply position as research assistant and also become postgraduate student (MSc or PhD). Provided below is the synopsis:

The project focuses on the field of system identification. Since genetic algorithm has become more and more frequently preferred as optimization method within the field, crossover (one of the main genetic operator in genetic algorithm) will be looked into in more depth towards improving the efficiency of such identification. The crossover process involves the interchange of information (bit string fragment in many cases) between at least 2 parents. Many available techniques select these parents from the population. This may restrict the search. Taking fragments or information from individuals (or chromosomes) of population at hand limit the exploratory behavior of the search. Although the technique still has the potential to converge towards the optimum solution, an alternative crossover is seen to be feasible by modifying crossover techniques such that the exploration of search space may be increased. This shall be achieved by looking at the fitness measure of the individuals and assigning these measures cumulatively as fitness of the bits. Therefore, potentially high fitness bits (not individuals) may be identified to be used in crossover towards creating future population.
